FIRST AID COURSES
Our first Aid courses are designed to meet and exceed the requirements required by the Health and Safety Authority. Every day 15 people in Ireland suddenly die, either as a result of an accident, a road crash or a heart attack. Some of these deaths are instant, but many of those who die suddenly could have been saved by the timely intervention of emergency first aid. It is well known that the moments between an accident occurring and the arrival of medical help can be crucial in determining a patient's outcome.
OCCUPATIONAL FIRST AID COURSE
Employers are required to have a number of certified Occupational First Aiders in the workplace to administer first aid as required by the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and the (General Application) Regulations 2007. The number of First Aiders required is specified in the HSA Guidelines on First Aid at Places of Work. This course is a FETAC Level 5 recognised course.

BASIC/PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID
A basic knowledge of first aid is the sort of skill that no one ever wishes to have to use, but nevertheless it could mean the difference between life and death for a loved one some day. This course is not designed to replace the Occupational First Aid Course. The Paediatric First Aid course is suited for parents, grandparents, babysitters and carers and anybody else who is interested to learn or refresh life saving skills. It covers all major paediatric incidents and illnesses including CPR and how to deal with choking.

PATIENT MANUAL HANDLING
Back injuries are becoming increasingly common in industry. Many of these injuries are as a result of repeated incorrect handling techniques and therefore can be easily prevented. Each organisation has a legal responsibility in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 1989 to ensure a systematic approach to the assessment of moving and handling and control of risks. The recommendation is that each employee is provided with a moving and handling course and that this is updated on an annual basis.
